The Ginger Bread Bakery by Laurie Gilmore

Book Title:  The Gingerbread Bakery

Author: Laurie Gilmore

Genre:  Romance

Main Characters:  Annabelle Andrews and Macaulay Sullivan

Story Setting:  Dream Harbor, during Christmas.

Story Summary: In the fifth installment of the Dream Harbor series, The Gingerbread Bakery follows the small-town rivalry and eventual romance between bakery owner Annie Andrews and upbeat bar owner Mac Sullivan. The story employs a dual timeline that shifts between a present-day wedding weekend and a pivotal Christmas eleven years earlier when the pair first fell in love. As they are forced to work together to save their best friends' wedding, they must confront the misunderstandings and pride that drove them apart after high school. A search for a missing relative further pushes them into close proximity, allowing them to finally share the secrets and unresolved feelings they have harbored for a decade. Ultimately, the novel is a cozy second-chance romance that emphasizes forgiveness and the supportive nature of their close-knit community.

Review:  Annie's attitude was so aggravating at times.  Like, grow up.  But anyway, Mac seems like a great guy, and I enjoyed the cat-and-mouse chase.  At times, I wished they acted more their age, which seems to be around 30 or 31.  They acted like teenagers and insecure young 20s.  I'd recommend it if you like spicy romance and Christmas-themed stories.
