🎄Dedication

For my three adult children, Sienna, Kalib, and Christopher. I enjoy(ed) bringing you joy every year as children, and I do hope that you will carry on the Christmas tradition in years to come. I love you all so very much. 💋

About The Blog

I created my Christmas blog to showcase and remember my Christmases over the years.  Christmas is under the stigma of commercialization and though gifts have become expensive and pricy, there's always family and get-togethers.  Sometimes Christmas is lacking, and I want my family to remember, and other families to remember, it's about presence, not presents.  But, presents with presence is always fun.  Christmas is supposed to be a joyful time of year, time to celebrate whatever it is you celebrate (birth of Christ, winter, or Santa).  Christmas time is the last American holiday of the year, and thus differences should be set aside and people should come together with joy.

This blog is not meant to be a money-making blog.  I earn my income as a Massage Therapist and what my husband brings home.  I have been to many blogs that get sidetracked by ads and clickbait links.  If I want to read a recipe, an article, or look at inspiring photos, I don't want to see a car dealership or office supplies being directed at me in video or banner ads. I just want to read and see without distractions.

So, I will try and keep my blog as advertisement-free as possible.  If I do link to Amazon or some other shop, it's because I purchased something there and I wanted to share the link.  Otherwise, no, there will not be ads all over my Christmas blog.

Links I like have their own dedicated page (see the menu at the top of my blog).

I have been blogging since 1998, when I chronicled my entire pregnancy of my second child.  Unfortunately, all my old blogs are gone, and even with web archiving, they don't exist anymore.  So, I forgot what really drew people in to read my stuff.  I went on a search engine to find "How to make my blog more interesting," and every website I went to was loaded with ads that either made the download time take forever, or the site would freeze my browser.  I don't want my blog to do that.

I will have minimal animated graphics, almost zero advertising (unless I wanted to share what I just bought or got), and quick access to everything.  I think that makes for a better blog.

I want it to stay on topic and I want it to stay family-oriented and legible.  Basically, my blog will remain as clean as possible.  It's more of a Christmas journal than anything else.

That said, have yourself a merry little Christmas story and a wonderful new or rest of the year.
